Liam Thurston, Creative Director, TWG

Introducing TWG’s new Creative Director

3-years ago, Dom and I met an ebullient designer from Montreal for coffee on Queen Street. He had a massive smile, a killer portfolio, and more tattoos than I could count – we hired him on the spot! Today it’s my pleasure to announce that Liam Thurston, formerly a Senior Design Lead at TWG, has been promoted to the very important role of Creative Director.

Liam will act as Director of the Design department as well as Creative Director for the organization. Responsible for growing our design culture, scaling our design team, and driving results for our clients, it is with tremendous confidence that we entrust Liam with this role.

With over 10 years of experience in interaction design and UX, Liam has been a champion of our design practice since day one. He has led many successful projects at TWG, including TSN’s Hockey & Golf mobile apps, working closely with our clients to define strategy that meticulously aligns with business goals. Check out some of his work on Favela United.

Liam joined TWG in 2013 from Montreal mobile agency Nventive, where he led interactive design projects with ABC News, Red Bull and Bloomberg. An OCAD graduate who has had a firm grip on a pencil since birth, his experiences have inspired an innovative approach to product design rooted in empathy and creativity. If you haven’t met or worked with Liam yet, you really should.

Over the holidays we also bid farewell and good luck to TWG’s Director of Design Brian Pullen, who has moved on to take his dream job working on the Virtual Reality team at Google. Brian was a big influence in the studio, and we’re grateful for all that he provided during his successful tenure here. Thank you Brian.
