We’re excited to share that, starting this month, TWG will be partnering with Ladies Learning Code to offer monthly code workshops in our studio!
Ladies Learning Code (LLC) is a leading resource for women and youth looking to become passionate builders — not just consumers — of technology through teaching technical skills in a hands-on, social, and collaborative way.
We will be hosting three Introduction to HTML & CSS courses this spring. These classes are designed for beginners and are perfect if you are looking to get your feet wet when it comes to programming. The courses will be taught by TWG’s own Haris Mahmood and supported by several mentors from the Toronto tech community. Each workshop is six hours long (divided over two evenings per month) and participants will learn to build a one page website from scratch.
TWG + Digital Literacy for Women
Increasing diversity, inclusiveness, and accessibility is one of our big goals at TWG. This isn’t only important within our office, but a guiding principle when planning our community programming.
We know that having diverse teams means we can create better products for a bigger, more diverse audience and we’re thrilled to be working with Ladies Learning Code to support digital literacy programs for women. This partnership is the first of many women in tech initiatives launching soon. Stay tuned!
