Sobeys has partnered with The Working Group to relaunch their digital offerings, part of a brand repositioning that sees the grocer focus on bringing better food to all Canadians.
The engagement includes the launch of the redesigned sobeys.com and mobile apps for iOS and Android.
The retailer, Canada’s number two grocer, has joined forces with UK chef Jamie Oliver to focus on healthier food options under the tagline, “Better Food For All.” To complement this, their website has been relaunched as an educational tool featuring recipes, healthy eating tips and in-store discounts. Designed and developed to be fully responsive, the site now optimizes fluidly for viewing on mobile, tablet and desktop devices.
The new Sobeys mobile app helps shoppers discover new meal ideas, find out what’s new and in-season at Sobeys, and makes weekly shopping planning more simple and enjoyable through its shopping list features and anytime access to a host of great savings in local Sobeys stores. The free iOS app is already available for download from the App Store and will be followed by an Android version in November.
Shoppers can transition easily between the website and mobile experiences, collecting tasty recipes and the week’s latest deals from their computer and then using the app to “check off” purchases as they move around the store.
“We’re very excited to be working with Sobeys, and they are a great example of an established company looking to try something new in the digital space in order to gain the edge in their market. They are a team of willing innovators who are laying a solid software foundation in order to drive tangible business goals.” – Rob Domagala, Director of Business Development, The Working Group
